Photographer at large
I’m a Brisbane based photographer who believes that my best photo is the photo I’m going to take next. I don’t proclaim that one kind of light is better than another, but as a photographer I understand light regardless of its source and how that capturing that light to make the best photo I can.
It started with a simple suggestion that I purchase a camera in order to join a friend on a trip to Yosemite and learn photography. I never made the trip. I did however immerse myself in any and every available resource on and off line. Endless blogs and videos, textbooks and magazines, and any photo-class and meet-up I could get in. Without a doubt the photographic community, more specifically the Atlanta Photography Guild was where I found my way. The consistency at which they provide outlets for creativity is unmatched by any other photo community. From the first frame I took, which by the way was awful, I knew I found something special. I’d be sure not to miss a meeting, not miss a chance to improve my craft. Through the group I’d be introduced to other affiliate groups like Meet and Shoot hosted by Trent Chau and Julie Hunter’s groups, later assisting Julie Hunter on personal projects as well as professional shoots. Always learning something new and always being reminded that there’s a long road ahead. The road may be a dead end street, but there’s no telling where it leads.
